CAPITOL OPERA HARRISBURG INVITES YOU TO
“MEET THE COMPOSER”
of “The Breath of God”...a walk through the Bible.
Enjoy a cup of tea and chat with Walter Robins, composer of The Breath of God
on Sunday, March27th, at 2:00 PM, at the Colonial Golf & Tennis Club at
4901 Linglestown Rd. in Harrisburg.
Walter is a very prolific composer who would love to meet you and answer
any questions you might have about the process of creating a magnificent
work like The Breath of God.
Capitol Opera Founding General Director, Kathleen Torchia, met Walter in
Sacramento many years ago, when she sang the female lead in his opera,
“The Ancient Mariner” another gorgeous work of Walter Robins'.
Circumstances brought them together again; when Kathleen learned that
Walter had written an oratorio, she knew she wanted to produce it.
“I loved the the fact that a modern composer had written a sacred piece, a piece
that I think is very timely for today's world. Currently, I hear more and more
newscasters and other TV personalities talking about God in these especially
challenging times of war, economic hardship, and natural disasters.
I heard on the radio just the other day that, in times of strife, no matter what one's religious views might be (if any), one calls out to God in times of trouble.
This beautiful, divinely -inspired piece can move one away from sorrow into
tears of joy!!”
Come and speak to the humble creator of this powerful work; there is NO admission...
...just bring your questions, have some tea, and hear some samples from
“The Breath of God”!!
